This Job: Quality Manager


You'll Report To: Director of Systems Implementation and Support


What You'll Do: The Quality Manager is responsible for executing functional tests using automated test tools or manual processes to quality assure new or modified applications/systems, primarily in a web-based environment. He/she will be responsible for facilitating stakeholder sign-offs and guiding the team throughout the testing life cycle. This position also executes test suites, provides input into the quality processes and continually improves the effectiveness and efficiency of testing within the Decision Support / Information Technology team. 

What You’ll Do

You'll be Responsible for:

  • Planning and establishing testing processes to execute projects. 
  • Analyzing the requirements and preparing the program level test strategy and identifying objectives in accordance with the requirements. 
  • Managing cost, time, quality, risk, scope and resources. 
  • Arranging risks and issues meetings with relevant stakeholders to identify testing related risks and formulate plans to mitigate them. 
  • Monitor progress on tasks and status related to testing deliverables by arranging working group sessions with offshore team members. 
  • Reviewing and approving the test cases as per the approved test approach and facilitate the sign-off from business. 
  • Preparing of test closure artifacts after completion of project and reporting to all relevant stake holders. 
  • Conducting daily stand up meetings, defect follow up meetings, and daily progress meetings with on-site and other senior management teams. 
  • Guiding the team members throughout the testing life cycle. 
  • Facilitating stakeholders sign-offs on projects and deliverables.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. 


Experience: Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in enterprise level software testing with web-based applications preferred. Must have at laest 3 years' experience with both manual and automation testing, and must have managed a team of quality analysts.



  • Demonstrated skills in the use of computer software applications. 
  • General knowledge of AGILE/SCRUM methodologies.
  • In depth experience with one or more QA automation technologies (i.e. Selenium, Robot Framework or UFT).
  • Good understanding of business approach. 
  • Demonstrated skills in schedule estimation on large scale projects. 
  • Liaison with development, project management, decision support and business. 
  • Property and Casualty Insurance testing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of test data management tools. 
  • Knowledge of database testing. 
  • Strong leadership and excellent communication skills. 



  • Ability to communicate interpersonally with individuals and groups via telephone and in writing. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical / professional / consumer clients. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain open and trusting working relationships with clients / agents in order to gather pertinent information.
  • Ability to balance timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly while maintaining proper confidentiality. 
  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to innovate regarding methods and approaches to existing and future work processes.
  • Ability to be resourceful in information gathering and assess information for the best possible decision. 
  • Ability to manage onshore and off shore QA operating model. 
  • Ability to coach QA team members to excel in test strategy, test case development and automation.

Working Conditions: Normal business office environment.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone.  The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.


Travel: Minimum, as required.
