    This Job: Risk Manager

     

    You'll Report To: SVP of Rism Management

     

    What You'll Do: The Risk Manager will oversee standard operations within the organization, which includes: Monthly modeling with multiple vendor models, monthly reporting, data submission to the OIR, and providing regular analytical services typically provided by brokerages, which includes reinsurance submission assembly, & capacity optimization analytics.  This individual will report to the executive in charge of Risk management, and will have a key role in creating and implementing long term aggregation strategy.  Strong analytical and communication skills will be required.

    What You’ll Do

    You'll be Responsible for:

    • Leading and Mentoring Risk Analysts with a variety of backgrounds.
    • Intimate knowledge of AIR and RMS vendor models preferred.
    • Commanding knowledge of portfolio analytics for reinsurance submissions.
    • High SQL and Microsoft Excel mastery required.
    • Ability to independently data mine to identify drivers of risk.
    • Understanding of primary insurance company needs and demands.

    What You’ll Need to be a Top Candidate

    What You'll Need to be a Top Candidate:

     

    Education: Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Insurance, or other technical degree.

     

    Experience: Four (4) or more years of catastrophic modeling analytical work preferred in Property Casualty field; with a minimum of Two (2) years of analytical experience required.   

     

    Preferred certifications: Successful completion of CPCU or Actuarial exams preferred. AIR and / or RMS Certifications.

     

    Knowledge and Skills:                       

    • Experience leading a small team of analysts preferred.
    • Ability to analyze data and develop strategic recommendations.
    • Strong organizational skills, including time management.
    • Experience in group presentations and project management.
    • Demonstrated skills or past achievement to obtain desired results.
    • SQL, AIR, Access and RMS preferred.
    • Superior Excel skills required.
    • Experience with ReMetrica, MetaRisk, and/or other DFA tools preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn additional software applications as required.
    • Ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner; gather information from multiple parties to ensure all perspectives are heard and considered; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas, thoughts and questions; express information and ideas effectively in settings including aligned or un-aligned feedback to obtain desired results.

    Working Conditions: Normal business office environment.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone.  The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.

     

    Travel: Minimum, as required.
