    Title: Product Manager


    You'll Report to: VP of Product Management


    The Product Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of all products, including manuals and forms as well as ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and compliance with Florida Residential property regulations.

    What You’ll Do

    • Analyzes existing portfolio by examining profitability, new business writings, products, competitive position, and capacity.
    • Removes or corrects potentially unprofitable sectors. Includes locating those sectors, initializing inspections, and finding appropriate reasons to remove risk or by turning those sectors into profitable sectors by making appropriate changes.
    • Analyzes new business for potential target areas, as well as areas to avoid.
    • Assesses costs of conducting business in various areas in comparison to related premiums. Compares rates to the marketplace to ensure competitiveness and makes recommendations.
    • Manages the development and implementation of products, forms, manuals, and rating rules for new programs and revisions to existing programs.
    • Analysis of claims frequency and severity
    • Participates reinsurance placement, provides reinsures with data, analysis and immediate support.
    • Researches and analyzes company and external information sources to identify market and state trends, opportunities and issues.
    • Directs pricing strategies. Provides analytical support to make fact based pricing decisions based upon actuarial rate indications, claim handling trends, underwriting initiatives, competitor intelligence, regulatory and legal environments.
    • Manages implementation of vendor products for new projects and programs.
    • Supports development of policyholder and agency informational materials
    • Responsible for the development and implementation of new programs across all departments.
    • Creates software programs to assist product development and analysis

    What You’ll Need to be a Top Candidate

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference for degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Risk Management or similar degree.


    Experience: 5-8 years’ experience in Personal Lines Property and Casualty Insurance experience preferred. Preferred candidate will possess excellent computer skills working with queries, workbooks, data warehouse knowledge, etc.


    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Experience in documentation, presentation, organization and leadership skills. Practiced research skills and strong organization capabilities.
    • Excellent Project Management skills.
    • Experience in communicating with varied organizational tiers and customer types.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Presentation skills including delivery to varied organizational tiers.
    • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple team members.
    • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, priority-shifting environment.
    • Advanced user – Microsoft Excel

    Your Environment

    Working Conditions: Normal business office environment.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone.  The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers. 


    Travel: Minimum, as required.
