Title: Litigation Specialist 


You'll Report to: VP of Litigation


The Litigation Specialist will work with the team to manage and adjust all claims files in litigation.  The Litigation Specialist must have a solid understanding of property (personal lines) insurance claims handling practices and procedures, preferably with knowledge of Florida claims handling rules and standards.  He/she must understand, and have the ability to articulate clear and accurately, the application of insurance language to an insurance claims.  

What You’ll Do


  • Be a subject matter expert on Florida insurance claims handling practice and procedures.
  • Organize, review, and prepare all files scheduled for corporate representative depositions, investigating any potential litigation issues that may arise in conjunction with the litigation staff.
  • Work closely with attorneys and paralegal staff to coordinate corporate deposition scheduling and appearances.
  • Keep meticulous notes and records on each file.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism both in and out of legal proceedings.
  • Testify throughout Florida as the corporate representative.
  • Additional duties as required.

What You’ll Need to be a Top Candidate

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Legal Studies, Business, Insurance, or related field required. 


Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience as a claims adjuster or litigation adjuster, preferably with a Florida personal lines carrier.


Skills & Knowledge:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced knowledge of Florida claims handling rules and standards.
  • Familiarity with SPIN and CaseGlide preferred.
  • Professional and demonstrates high integrity.
  • Shifts focus or course of action when necessary; flexible.
  • Resilient, maintaining high levels of performance under stress.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Your Environment

Working Conditions: Normal business office environment.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone.  The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers. 


Travel: As required, and may require overnight travel.
